14.05.2004 - Microsoft commissions academic Web-Portal with QualiSite

The Microsoft Academic Program (MAP) has commissioned PGK Software & Communication GmbH to implement its new Online-Portal. The basis for implementation will be PGK's .NET-based Content Management System - Qualisite 2004 Global edition.

One of the objectives of MAP is to make available relevant information to interested parties from the Academic field in a fast and reliable fashion. Furthermore developer tools over the MSDN Academic Alliance are being made available to teachers and students for free. The MAP Online-Portal in this way will be of major importance to the Academic community and a central point for communication.

The basis for implementation of the new Portal will be served by QualiSite, PGK GmbH's own in-house .NET Content Management System. In order to cover Microsoft's individual requirements, customer specific functions through customised development, are seamlessly being integrated.

"We've opted for PGK GmbH, because we know them to be a reliable Service Provider with high technical ability and wide experience in Community Circles", explained the person responsible for the Microsoft Project, project director Gesa Ehmsen. "We were quickly convinced by the Qualisite Content Management System. Because it's easy to use and flexible it allows us to operate independently. The fact that the product is based on our .NET technology was also an important  point.", adds Ehmsen.

The project work has already begun and the official launch of the Portal is planned for the end of June.
